250TH MARINE CORPS BALL is at the Eagles Club, 2727 Mount Pleasant St. Appetizers are at 5:30 p.m. and the ceremony is at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner.

AARON ORTH, local author and artist, will speak at 10:30 a.m. at the Danville Library, 102 N. Main St., Danville.

BOB NOLAN will play from 1-3 p.m. at Hamilton Place, 3325 Sterling Drive. Performance is free to the public. Light snacks will be served.

BREAKFAST CLUB meets from 9-10:30 a.m. at Burlington Public Library, 210 Court St. Enjoy a breakfast provided by generous donations, with optional activities.

BURLINGTON NOTRE DAME THEATER presents “The Little Mermaid” at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $12. Student admission is $8.

MOUNT PLEASANT HIGH SCHOOL Drama presents “Radium Girls” at 7 p.m. at Heatilator Performing Arts Center, 307 E. Monroe St., Mount Pleasant. Door admission is $10.

STEAMBOAT SENIOR CENTER, 501 Jefferson St., provides holiday gift wrapping service from noon-4 p.m. Cost is a donation to the center.

STERLING LORD Writers and Readers Festival is from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Burlington Public Library, 210 Court St.

STEVE GRISMORE provides spookily good jazz at the Night Cap Listening Lounge, 211 N. Third St., from 8-10 p.m.

THE DAMNED TORPEDOS Tom Petty tribute band is back at The Washington, 306 Washington St., at 8 p.m. Visit thewashingtonmusic. com for tickets.

THE WIZARD OF OZ showing sponsored by SCC is at 7 p.m. at The Capitol, 211 N. Third St. Free for children age 12 and under, $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors.

WEST BURLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL and Jr. High will perform the musical “Freaky Friday” at 7 p.m. in the WBHS auditorium.
